Unity Sand Glass Containers

Anna, on May 12, 2011 at 2:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

My fiance and I are combining colored sand in place of the unity candle at our ceremony but are having trouble finding vases to put the sand in. Does anyone have any ideas for where to find a glass container to put the sand in that has some way to close the container, such as with a cork or stopper? I've found some on wedding sites but they're ridiculously expensive and we're trying to find something around $20 - $30 or less.

We found ours on Amazon.com. It was smaller than I thought it would be, but they engraved it for free and it comes with the containers you pour the sand from. Amazon had ALOT of different options in all price ranges. Here is a link to the one we bought...

It was cheaper when we bought it but now it is $25 plus $10 shipping. Still not a bad deal.

I also loved the idea of the tealight candle in the top.

I got mine on etsy and I love them. The smaller containers each say our names. The larger container we pour into has our last name and wedding date. PM and I will look up the name of the seller if you want.

Thanks for all the ideas everyone!

Jessica R., would you be able to find the name of the seller on Etsy? I looked some on Etsy but was overwhelmed with how many things there are on there and had trouble narrowing down what I was looking for.

There are a lot of different shapes and sizes... did you see one that you liked and wanted to know where for the best deal?

this is the one I got, and had it personalized.

You can find many reasonably priced sand unity sets which are customized with artwork and/or personalization, at the following link!

Prepare to be amazed with the level of service, also!

I am planning on using that gell that hardens into a clear water looking plastic ( used for like fake plants) so that it looks like there is water inside, and the sand wont budge! Walmart has this by the fake flowers.
