Unity Ceremony Song

Patton, on January 12, 2017 at 8:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hello all! So I am getting married in 44 days (yay!) but I am in desperate need of a unity ceremony song. I originally wanted to do "I Get to Love You" by Ruelle but my best friend, who is my MoH, had it as her unity ceremony song! I have been trying and trying to find a song that is similar, not meaning in the way it sounds, but in the meaning of the song. If you haven't heard it before you should listen to it, it is beautiful! Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

I can't think of the song for anything at my best friend's wedding... you and your best friend will know, no one else will know - or be bothered by it if they do know.

Never heard that song before but it's amazing! Have you heard The One by Kodaline, I think the acoustic version would work better for you

I LOVE that song, it's going to be our first dance song...so I guess I'm biased, but I'd use it Smiley smile

It's a little bit of an acquired taste but Bahamas has several albums and one of them is centered on marriage/relationships. My favorites are "Time and Time Again" and "Be My Witness" but I'm totally biased because they're our ceremony and first dance songs Smiley smile

I am usually speaking during the unity celebration -- explaining what is happening. It takes about 30 seconds for the couple to pour sand. Cuing the musician/DJ to start and end those 30 seconds seldom works.

What kind of unity celebration are you having -- sand, candles, ??? Ask your officiant if s/he will be talking through it.

We aren't doing a song for our sand ceremony. I think it will be ok.
