Unique ways of wearing your ring

Hey all! So, my FH proposed in February of this year and he got me the PERFECT ring, I freaking love it!!! The only problem is that my fingers swell a lot and it makes me have different ring sizes depending on the day. I kept having to take it on and off and I hated that so I put it on a chain and wear it as a necklace. I got some heat about this from his mom. Does anyone else wear their rings NOT on their fingers? How do others respond?

If that's the only way you can wear it when your fingers swell then there's nothing wrong with that. Not that it's any of milo's business but you can always kindly explain to her your reasoning. Or if you really want to, you can have it sized a tiny bit larger so swelling isn't an issue.

My fingers swell and shrink. In the summer they swell, in winter they shrink. The best size for me is 5.25. It allows for some swelling and slight shrinking. But even then I've had problems with both. I have worn mine around my neck when I was pregnant and my fingers were so swollen my rings almost got stuck. I would suggest maybe trying a half size up?

I'm sorry you've received some heat for wearing your ring in this way.
I don't see anything wrong with this, and it's a great compromise! You can wear the ring you love, without having to worry about your swollen fingers, win-win!
Many brides to be who are in an occupation where they can't wear their ring (dog groomer, nurse, etc.) often do so on a necklace!
My advice is when someone comments on it, acknowledge what they've said and just change the subject You don't have to explain yourself to anyone if you're not comfortable!
