Unique Preservation Ideas

Maddison, on December 29, 2019 at 9:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 4
I am looking for ideas for persevering my wedding dress. My friends have all done the box from the dress store that has the window and just displays the top part of the dress. My dress has so much detail on the train that id love you display it. Has anyone done anything like the photo? Is this something you can diy or have done professionally? I have no idea how preserving works to prevent it from yellowing. Any advice is appreciated! TIA!Unique Preservation Ideas 1

I would go to a custom framing shop to do this. You’d want to use special materials to protect the dress from yellowing. Its a wonderful idea!

Would a framing place be able to preserve it? Does it really need to be preserved or will it be fine? I’ve been reading and you can get UV protected glass that would protect it from yellowing. Just not sure if that means I don’t really need the preservation part or not.

I imagine you’d need it professionally cleaned, either through a dry cleaner or preservation service, and then bring to the framing shop to have it framed. If you have a local framing shop, try giving them a call and seeing what they suggest. I think a preservation service essentially cleans the dress and then boxes it up in protective material, which could help with getting your dress to the framing shop and keeping it in its best condition before framing.

What style dress do you have? If you have lots of tulle or poof in it you may need to remove some of that to get it into the frame?
