What is something you are incorporating into your wedding that will make it unique to you and your fiance? I know someone who incorporated a star wars sign into their wedding because that's what they were both into and I love those creative spins to weddings that really show personality!!

For us it's our venue. It's the community center we met at back in 1985 at a dance. Most of the 6 months we dated back then were spent at dances there, so it's sentimental to us. There is a brick wall in the lobby that we used to sit at and talk. We're planning our main wedding photo there.

We are doing a unity painting, walking into Star Wars, had his sister do our calligraphy, are taking photos with our parent’s wedding photo, did Star Wars engagement photos we will display, will have some of my art displayed and have a lightsaber exit. We also chose a trumpet and harpist because my FH played the trumpet. Additionally, we have a short reception (3 hours only) so we can grab dinner together solo after. His brother helped us create gold and blue StarWars figures for the wedding.

Our venue is very unique. It’s a neon sign museum so that will bring a lot of character to the event. I’m also renting an old 1950s Camaro to have in the venue as a surprise (my FH has always loved chevys and has a Camaro). Lastly, we will be having a cotton candy stand to go along w our dessert table.

Our ceremony music is all instrumental pieces from Final Fantasy. Our table names are places in fantasy novels that we both liked. Our caketoppers are actually Nendoroid figurines.

We’re both pretty big craft beer lovers so we’re going to have our bar stocked with our local favorite and my fiancé is going to make our cake. He’s a baker at one of the best places in town so im not worried about it at all lol but it’s a small special thing for us. Smiley smile

FH is a big fan of Harry Potter. I showed him a themed wedding and he seemed bummed that ours was going to just be regular. I decided to come up with a few ideas to add hints of the Wizarding world around the venue. So far.. The favors will be skeleton key bottle openers that I will add wings to, there will be some snitches hiding in the centerpieces, and the cake topper will say "always."

We have really thought long and hard about this and while we want the wedding to be unique to us, we don't want it to be so much like a child's birthday party.

We have come up with an Italy themed wedding. We are both Italian and love Italy.

We are serving a fairly traditional lunch/dinner (reception is at 12:30 PM) but will also have an Italian Pasta Bar with all the fixings!

Our cake topper will be a custom sculpture of us and our dog, Simba. I am also adding a little surprise to the cake itself, a little Batman pepping out of one of the layers (FH loves Batman).

Our table numbers will still be numbers but the background of the card will be locations in Italy or the photos we took while in Italy.

FH's grandma passed away years ago and she was so special to him. We are using lots of yellows (her favorite color).

We are also planning on using a birdcage for our card box; again, FH grandmas both loved birds.

Many of the songs we want to use for special dances will be personal to us and those close to us will understand why we selected the particular song.

Our ceremony songs will have songs from Studio Ghibli movies like howls moving castle and spirited away. Also a song from the movie A Silent Voice.

For our wedding, we had a New Jersey Devil's and Baltimore Orioles jerseys as guest books. We also had place cards that looked like hockey tickets. Our colors were red and black which are the New Jersey Devil's colors. While I was getting my hair and makeup done, my mom gave me a small box that I had to open. My husband wrote me a cute message and a tiara was inside. I had begged him to have a tiara and he told me no because he wanted to surprise me by giving me one the morning of the wedding. Our mothers and bridal party walked down the aisle to a violin cover of My Heart Will Go On which was something I really wanted because I love Titanic. I also wore a New Jersey Devil's garter. We also had a slideshow made for rehearsal which had photos of us growing up to present day. My husband also wanted to show the video at the wedding so we sent up a table with a laptop by the ballroom (where the reception was held) and had it on constant replay. I love converses so I worn white converses that I had decorated with gems and on one side it had our wedding date written and the other said bride. He worn dress shoes for the reception, but changed into black converses at the wedding that had our wedding date on one side and groom written on the other. We wrote our own vows. My parents eloped so the first song to get everyone on the dance floor was the song they were going to use as their first dance if they had had a big wedding. Rather than the shoe game, we created a trivia game to see how well our guests knew us. They had to fill it out during dinner then following dinner everyone came onto the dance floor and the questions and answers we read allowed by the DJ. If you got the answer wrong you went back to your seat. The last 10ish people got a prize. My husband created a card box that looks like a mini house.

Thank you! I told him. I wasn't sure how the always would strike him for a wedding. I know fans have differing opinions on the matter. So I had to ask him about that one. Haha. I'm trying to think up a couple of surprises for him, though.

FH and I are doing a mac and cheese bar for dinner! Neither one of us are into the traditional buffet style foods, and thought this would be much better!

We're incorporating gold spray-painted plastic dinosaurs into our decor.

We're not tossing a bouquet or garter. Instead we got a stuffed gray cat and a stuffed corgi (we have one of each in real life), and we're going to attach $10 Petco gift cards, and toss them to all the pet owners (we know way more pet owners than single people).

I'm processing in to "Black is the Color of my True Love's Hair", which is one of FH's favorite songs, and it makes him think of me. He's processing in to "Mo Ghile Maer", which in English wouldn't be the BEST wedding song, but it's in Gaelic, and we both love it, and I call him mo ghile maer, in a tongue in cheek way. He calls me mo cuishle. We don't speak Gaelic, but we're going to Ireland for our honeymoon, and we both love all things Irish.

We also put a fake address on an invitation suite for the photographer to use in detail shots on the day. We used P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney, NSW 2000. From Finding Nemo.

Oh! And I'm doing a boudoir shoot, and in a few of the photos, I'm going to wear the typical lingerie, but with a dinosaur mask.

My FH loves Miyazaki movies, too. I'm surprising him by walking down the aisle to Clair de Lune.

A lot of the music in our wedding is reflective to us and our favorite fandoms: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc.

Our altar will have two special touches: my Harry Potter Goblet of Fire and his Green Lantern Corps lantern.

Our grand entrance song will be "Such Great Heights" and our first dance will be to "Recycled Air"; both by The Postal Service. It was at one of their concerts my FH told me he loved me for the first time.

Our sweetheart table will have couple more special touches: a bride and groom rubber ducky. We won these out of claw machine game years ago on a date night. Who knew we'd be using them at our wedding?

And my favorite part: our centerpieces. Each of our tables will have a card stating that donations will be made to different charities in lieu of favors. They'll be for the 3 organizations we adopted our pets, our local library branch and food banks, the non-profit that runs the location of our first date and many more.

We might incorporate baby pictures somewhere but I'm not sure yet.
