Unhappy with wedding photos?

Sam, on October 3, 2022 at 11:34 AM Posted in Married Life 0 8

I just got my sneak peek back from photographer, and I'm unfortunately very disappointed.

I'm very orange in a lot of the photos, and my tan looks very weird. There's an obvious line on my arm in the photos she sent me. It goes from white to straight orange. I don't know what to do. I showed my friends and family and they all told me I definitely did not look like that and I need to tell the photographer to re edit these pictures. Is this an easy fix on the photographers end? or is this too much to ask? I'm not sure if she's able to even out the skin tone in the photos. I just feel like I looked like an orange, uneven tanned idiot on my wedding day.

I would ask but be prepared for the photographer to say it's going to cost more to do extensive editing.

It certainly couldn't hurt to politely state your concerns and ask her to fix them! Especially if she hasn't started on the rest, she could redo the couple photos from the sneak peek, and then she knows what you're looking for when it comes to the rest of the photos.

Definitely wouldn't hurt to ask. If there is something that can be done, it would probably be easier to fix now than after all the pictures get turned over.

I think it can be fixed but will be expensive. My photographer warned me to use self-tanner or “fake bake” because I’d look orange and he’s have to edit the photos…and charge me an hourly rate.

As Sara mentioned, the colors can be changed. Some of this is obviously possible when seen on shopping sites where different color clothes are shown but the pose is the same.

I think a normal change the photographers will do is to remove some shadows, especially those on the bride and groom. The two tones on the arm would be tougher but this is probably what the photographer wanted to show you. I'm not quite sure why the picture came out like that in your case.

The colors can be changed for sure and I'd even say they should be as you are unhappy with the current ones. It won't hurt to ask the photographer if she can do that and if you'll need to pay more for it. Maybe she'll do that for free if she just used one and the same preset, maybe she'll charge reasonably. If you are paying to get unedited pics as well, you can do your own editing via programs like Photoworks, but definitely ask her about possible changes first.
