Under Garments! *paging MNA*

Maegan, on October 31, 2016 at 10:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

What kind of bra do you wear under your wedding dress. I am rather busty and can not go without. I am curious what you wore dress shopping!

Try paging MNA. I think she was the one I talked to about being a busty bride. But now I'm not sure. It's worth a shot! Just put : *Paging MNA* in your title.

She's awesome and usually replies quickly.

Really? That's about what I am. Do you feel secure without anything else? My concern is I don't want to feel like I'm going to fall out of it. Lol

    Haha, @n&j2018 that makes sense!

@rachel maybe I will try! I think I'm just so used to having to always wear a bra that I assumed I did here too!

I'm a 38DD and even when the dress was fitted to me I still needed lift and shape in the bust so bra less with cups sewn in was not an option. I ended up wearing an unlined underwire bra and my seamstress installed loops for my bra to literally hook into the back of my dress and in the shoulders. I felt amazingly secure.

I have a longline bra I got off of Barenecessities.com. I normally wear a 36P in US sizing, (36K U.K.) and had to go a couple of cup sizes smaller because they don't make strapless in my size, BUT it works super well and is really comfy and supportive.

I definitely recommend fitting yourself by the guide I'll post the link to in the next comment, because for busty women ESPECIALLY, you're likely wearing the wrong size. I had JCP and VS telling me I wore a 40DDD, and I had spillage ALL over the place. The gore didn't tack (the center part of the underwire of cups didn't touch my chest/lay flat) and it was a mess. Finding the right bra size helped IMMENSELY and has pretty much gotten rid of my "back fat" issue as well. I also no longer have upper back pain from the weight of my breasts, because the band provides the support now (as it should) instead of the straps. I also don't get the red strap dig-in marks anymore in my shoulders.

My bra was expensive ($110-ish) but I will definitely be keeping it for use with anything I can find! Lol.

    Hope this helps!!

Oh, for anyone wondering what a 36P looks like, DF has a bigger head, and can literally fit his head in my bra cups. It's disturbing.

@CMC did your corset come with your dress? I bought a steel-boned corset, but it's too lumpy to wear under my dress.

Huh this makes me think... I've been unable to find a bra that has the "gore" sit flat against my chest for years now and I just started to assume that it was impossible... I think I'm gonna need to try those measuring tips! When I got sized at Nordstrom about a year ago at a 38G...

Not MNA, but I wear a 42DDD. Dress shopping I wore my strapless from Lane Bryant. The day of I'm wearing the basque from the Elomi Maria line.

I don't know where you live, but if there is a Rigby and Peller near you, try doing a fitting there. VS told me I was a 36D, R&P finally got me in the right bra which was a 34F. I actually brought my dress in for the fitting and we were able to find a bra that worked really well for my dress!
