Under 28 day mark! Marriage License time!

Sine, on February 12, 2022 at 12:01 PM Posted in Planning 1 2
I just applied for our marriage liscense. So exciting! I was able to do it online which was nice. I figured we had to go in-person to apply and then in-person to pick it up. I also had this gorgeous certificate made off etsy to have signed and displayed in our home. Now my question is...when we sign both the real and this fake one..do I put my old last name or new/Under 28 day mark! Marriage License time! 1

married one!? I'm assuming my current/old one???

Current last name for the legal document especially. For the one you’re going to display in your home that’s up to you.

I would check with your city/state's website. Here is what ours says about it:

    Changing your name

If you only want to change your surname, you can sign your marriage license with your new last name. This change will be reflected on your marriage certificate. You can then use the certificate as proof when you update your driver’s license, passport, and other documents.

If you want to make a more significant change, like shifting your current surname to your middle name, you need to file a petition with the Court of Common Pleas
