Ugly Bridesmaid Dress

I let my bridesmaids choose their own. And they all came out nicely though I’ll admit I preferred some over others

So true! I hate how plain most of the dresses are. Evening gowns are way better. The name Bridesmaid on a dress increases the price too. 60% of the time the dresses just feel cheap. I got my girls dresses at a prom/ dress store.

I tend to agree with you, I am not a fan of most dresses labeled “bridesmaids dresses”. Evening/formal dresses tend to be a lot prettier and of higher quality construction and material. I am definitely not doing BM dresses.

Evening gowns are really pretty, but you not want to take your girls' budget into consideration because they can also he more expensive.

Others must love them if they keep selling and making them. Clothing/fashion is so subjective; that's the best and worst thing about it.

My friend found a dress at Nordstrom for us. It was around the same price as we would’ve spent at Davids. I absolutely loveddddddd the dress as did everyone else. Only things that’s challenging is that you don’t know how long they’ll have a dress in stock for or in everyone’s size. My friend ended up getting all our measurements from Davids and bought our size and a size up just in case. So can add a little bit more time in returning and such but the dress was beautiful and in navy so I can def wear again.

I wanted to go a different route with my bridal party's dresses, but I ultimately went with the site, Birdy Grey. All my ladies loved the styles they offered, and it was affordable for all of them as well.

It was just tough for me to find a evening gown/dress in the color I wanted, that ALSO worked with everyone's budget/size/shape.

Evening gowns are definitely prettier/more flattering over all. But they are not inexpensive by any means.


Of the bridesmaid choices, I personally found Cocomelody to be the most elegant is the word? Plus most reviews I've read said they are the same price and same try-on at home program but higher quality.

That’s the best route to go. We decided against having a bridal party altogether. But I do agree that most bridesmaids dresses look blah and typical.

I'm getting all of my party evening gowns. We're looking at BHLDN for formal gowns, and I totally agree. I've seen way to many weddings with bridesmaids in monochrome chiffon, it's just not my taste

I thought I am the only one thinking that way. Their quality is not good. I mean, the price is okay, some very cheap, but the quality of the fabric and handcraft is... well, the price explained. I have a special style in mind, but so far I hate the fabric they use. It would look fine in pictures, sure. But I won’t buy those dresses I saw, unless I really can’t find a good quality dresses which doesn’t have a hefty price tag on it. *waiting for the real deal.

I have found some under $100. More in the $60 - $80 price range that are just awesome! I am a DIY bride and I am all about being money conscious.
