The wedding will be at the hotel, but this could be great for the welcome dinner!

Hi, I'm sorry I am dragging up this old thread - anyone who used this feature through uber/lyft - it doesn't actually reserve any cars or drivers, correct? So even if you chose to pay for rides, there's no guarantee that there would actually be cars available when or where you needed them?

I plan to use it for my wedding party only instead of getting a limo. Far less expensive!!!!

You’ll only be charged for the rides that guests use.

I'm a MOB and interested in using Uber/Lyft premium/black for our Orlando wedding day. I would love to hear if anyone has used the limo/premium/black for weddings and how that worked out. To hear Orlando experiences would be awesome.

Our Orlando wedding scenario: B/G and party (14 total) will be staying at a Disney Resort, ceremony in Celebration and reception at Kissimmee golf club. I initially thought of renting a 15 passenger mini-bus: $350 for the day. But could not find a suitable, new mini-bus for rent. 22 to 28 person mini-bus is $70-$85/hour charter. Duration: pick up at Resort to Return after reception = 12 hours. My current solution: Uber/Lyft Black (3 each) to transport B/G and attendants/parents from Resort to Church. 2 hour Charter 28 person mini-bus for transport for B/G/attendants/parents/siblings&sigs from church to photo location to reception venue. Uber/Lyft for attendants/parents/siblings&sigs back to resort post reception.

Uber Events is an absolutely horrible service and RUINED my wedding transportation plans. Uber should never put a service in place if they literally don’t have the technology to make it work. Once you create an event, apparently you can’t chance ANYTHING about it...time range, # of rides, $ limit, code, nothing!! Even if you would be giving them double the business. And you can’t even cancel it and re make it with changes. WASTE OF MONEY, be warned!! Go to Lyft, they are probably much more capable.

For those who have used this for their wedding event - do you have an example of the text/cards you sent out to your guests with details/instructions on how to use the app and promo code?
