Ashley, on April 9, 2017 at 7:47 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 28

Has anyone ever booked or used uber / lyft event? If so, how was the experience ? Worth it?

I haven't, but it seems so much more budget friendly than paying for a limo.

I'm looking into this and/or Uber Select. Limo prices are outrageous!!

My cousin must've done an Uber event for her wedding- we didn't end up using the code since the hotel was just a couple blocks away. It was definitely a nice touch and all, but it's totally optional for you to help with guests' transportation. You only pay for the codes that get redeemed, so it seems pretty low-risk to me!

We are planning to set up a Lyft event from our ceremony to our reception only.

Thank you ladies for your feedback it is greatly appreciated. I just want my guest to enjoy my special day which I know they will. Lol @MrsPotts yes my sister/maid of honor said we can put in the welcome bags. Such a great gesture and I think my guest will be appreciated.

A.L.C. I just wish I can communicate with someone on the phone instead of via email, yet I'm still waiting for someone to respond back to me from lyft and uber.

I looked into this but our area charges a large admin fee for uber, like $80 and then you have to post the uber code. I wish it was more popular in our area but even on a Saturday night, you will see maybe 5 active ubers in our city of 500,000 people

I looked on Craigslist for drivers, thinking I'd do basically the same thing (we don't have Uber/Lyft in the area yet). Instead I found a private limo for $125 an hour. I put a $50 and we're set to go! It's worth a shot

I'm not going to do this, but I must say, I love the idea! We live in a small town and don't have either of those services here. Instead I'm going with our one and only taxi service in town that charging us $200 all night but ask that our guest tip. I hope it works out for you!

I was a guest at a wedding that had an Uber Events code. I thought it was a nice touch, but we ended up using Lyft because there were no nearby Ubers.

For those who have used this: In regards to pricing, has it seemed like this is a more economical option than shuttle service?

Our hotel wound up being farther from the venue than we'd hoped (25 minutes) and I'd like to provide some sort of transportation. As I'm not sure how many will actually use it, I'm wondering if Uber or Lyft might be better options than a shuttle bus.

I'm looking into it! I want there to be an option in case someonr needs it, and from what I've read you get back what wasn't used. My only concern for my area is the amount of drivers actually available.

Would you be using this instead of a limo? or just for rides home?

@natalie N. I'm going to look into using both services because I know some people prefer one service over another. I hope it all works out. Do you know if they have any hidden fees?

@angel D. I will have two limos one for our bridal party and the other for ourselves. The uber and lyft will be an option for my guest to get to the ceremony from their hotel and from the ceremony to the reception.
