Two matrons of honor, not close with each other

Nicole, on August 18, 2022 at 6:32 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
Hello, I have two best friends I want to ask to be my matrons of honor. They had been college roommates at one point and now have grown apart. The three of us used to all be friends but now the two of them are not very close with each other. I can’t choose just one, I value their friendships equally. I’d like any advice as to how to ask them to both be by my side and if there is any special thing I could write to them to ask them both together.

Just ask them. Just because they’re not close doesn’t mean they won’t come together for you. It would be different if they had a huge falling out. People drift apart all the time. You could simply send a group text to them both expressing how you’d be very happy to have them both stand with you on your wedding day.

I had two matrons of honor who had never even met, but they were able to text each other (once I introduced them) and everything was very smooth.

No problem with asking each of them separately in person. It’s pretty rare that every bridesmaid in a wedding party either knows each other very well or is super close. What matters is how much each of the individuals mean to you.

If there's no bad blood between them, then I think you're fine to just ask them Smiley smile it might even rekindle the friendship!

They don't have to be close to each other to both stand up with you in your wedding.

I have two people in my bridal party. Both are MOH. Felt silly to me to make one a bridesmaid and give the other a ~fancy~ title.
