Two maid of honors, bridal party of 5

Morgan, on August 3, 2021 at 9:07 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8
Help! I’m so stuck between doing two or one maid of honor 😭 I’m stuck between my sister and my lifetime best friend…do I do both? Or is the odd since I have a bridal party total of 5? Thanks all for help!

It's definitely not unheard of. The number of people in your party shouldn't matter. If it's really that tough of a choice you can choose them both to be maid of honor. If either of them are married, you can do a maid of honor (single person) and matron of honor (married person). If they're both married, they can both be matrons of honor. It's totally up to you.

I originally only had 5 and had 2! Maid and matron of honor. I have 8 all together now but I was going to do it at 5. Do what you want!

I have 2 MOH & 6 total bridesmaids. I’ve seen it’s more common now & it really doesn’t matter how big the bridal party is. One is my childhood best friend and the other is my college best friend. I feel both of them earned that honor and they were both good with it. It’s also come in handy because I am now 4.5 months away & they’ve been able to lean on each other to plan the bach & bridal shower. And if one is busy with life or work, I have the other I can count on if I need to. Do what you want girl!

I was in the same position and struggled with it. I picked both my sister and best friend to be maids of honor and I have three other bridesmaids. Just do what you feel is right. I love my sister and wanted her to be maid of honor as is more traditional, but I talk to my best friend every single day I think she knows me better than I even know myself so in the end I knew I needed to also honor that friendship in a very special way. It doesn't matter how many total people in your party or who you think will do a good job planning etc. You should pick whoever you want to honor

I think as long as you don’t have more MOHs than bridesmaids, it should be fine

Do it!! I chose to have 2 MOH's so both my sisters could fill the role. It's worked out really well so far. I have 4 other bridesmaids. If your sis and BFF get along, don't hesitate!
