Hey all...is anyone planning on wearing two dresses? I keep having people ask me if I plan to change into a different dress for my reception and I respond generally with "nope, I love my wedding dress and want to wear it the entire time" ; not to mention it cost too much to wear for only the ceremony and pictures Smiley smile. However, with the amount of people who have asked me, it sounds like this is a popular thing to do.

If you are having two dresses, why did you decided to do it and what does your reception dress look like?

This is exactly what I want to do. I want to wear my traditional ivory dress for the ceremony, first dance, bouquet toss, and cake cutting. Then, I want to change into a traditional Ghanaian dress. My FH and entire bridal party will be changing into Ghanaian attire as well.

When exactly did you change (I do want to dance to some American music before we go full out Ghanaian)? Did you have time to tweak your hair and/or make up? How did you keep your guest from noticing that you were gone?

I know this is an old post but I really need help with this.

If I remember correctly, I changed after we went and hugged everyone and the dance floor & bar we're open. I definitely got hot in my first dress, so my maid and matron of honor and I slipped out to change for a few minutes quietly. They helped me change and touched up my hair and makeup. It took maybe 15 minutes tops.

Oh okay. Thank you so much! I’ve been so nervous that the changing dress thing will not work or will take up a bunch of time. Everyone notices when the bride goes missing!
