Tuxedo Rental....way too much

MariaPaz, on August 7, 2017 at 10:13 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 45

So, FH and I went to a tux fitting this past weekend. I never thought the prices for rental was so expensive, even with a $50 off coupon, it came up to $180 pp just for the rental. Anyone else has another experience for the rental? we went to Men's warehouse, I don't know if there is another company that do rentals.

That sounds pretty reasonable for a tux rental. We went to men's warehouse and were quoted that just for a suit. The tux we inquired about was over $220 to rent. We managed to get the rental price quoted to closer to 150$ for a suit rental because we wanted suspenders instead of a vest, and would let the guys use their own black shoes which took about 40$ off the rental.

You could try Joseph A Bank they do rentals. Plus there are places on line like Gentux, but 180$ for a Tuxedo rental sounds fairly reasonable to me.

That sounds normal. I've been seeing a lot around $200.

It's highway robbery in my opinion.

We bought suits just because DH didn't want to pay for a rental. If that's something he'd like, check Macy's for some nice suits (that you can use coupons on!)

Macy's also has a suit/tux shop where you can rent from.

Has any one tried those tux rental apps like Generation Tux?

Sounds close to ours. We also let the guys wear their own shoes to take money off the rental, and nothing fancy (no pocket squares, etc).

I never knew it was that much money just for a rental. We picked men's warehouse because groomsmen live in different cities and they can all go at their convenience.

Ours are $180 pp with $60 off. Which is reasonable imo because it includes jacket, pants, shirt, vest, tie, shoes and pocket square. And we get it from Thursday-Sunday. I didn't go through MW.

Yea, I wish I had better news on the price. We went with MW as well and for suits, the total came out to around $185 each for rentals. But they are getting the whole deal, like what MrsV2Be said.

Well I guess, we are sticking to MW then. The good thing is that they gave us a $400 off coupon to buy things at the store, so maybe we can buy something for the guys to help a bit with the cost.

The suit we liked for the groomsmen at Men's Warehouse was $260 to rent. Al's Formal Wear had it at $230 to rent. We then went to International Suit Wearhouse and it was $130 to BUY! So I would suggest looking around for places that have suits/tuxedos to buy as well.

    This sounds reasonable.

FH and I were just in a wedding for friends that used Mens Wearhouse, they had basic dark grey suits and paid $190. It also included shoes that none of them got, because the groom wanted cowboy boots. MW did not offer a credit for not getting them, FYI.

It sounds reasonable. We are probably going to go through JCP, I think its $140. I didn't like MW because they were way too pushy, talked down about their rentals and only have 3 to pick from

In my opinion, that's a pretty reasonable price for a tux rental. My FH is paying $210 for his rental, as are each of the GM from Men's Warehouse.

I was on MW website a few weeks ago and they were having a $99 Tux rental sale. I tried to book then but it wouldn't let me since I am over a year out. I'm going to wait until a year and watch their website for the same sale so I can book it then.

We are probably going through the black tux. I think it's like $135 pp but no free rental for the groom. Probably about equals out in the end
