Tulle dress alterations

Lexi, on February 1, 2020 at 7:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
So I have a question for you ladies. I have a poofy tulle dress that I love, but I just won’t be able to dance and have a good time in this dress at the reception. I don’t want to buy a whole new dress because I really love mine so much. But I was wondering if it’s possible to turn the tulle part under my dress into more of a skirt that could be removed for the reception. Here is a stock photo of the dress but it’s much more poofy IRL. Thank you!Tulle dress alterations 1

The salon can remove some of the tulle. Then you could add a petticoat under which you could remove later.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Lexi!

    Your dress is SO pretty

I would recommend you speak with a seamstress and have a consultation to discuss what is possible. He/she may be able to remove some layers of tulle as Leslie mentioned or recommend something else to make it easier to manage for the reception. They really are the pros and in the best position to advise!

Do you have a seamstress that you already planned on working with on your dress?

I am having the same issue. I wanted to make my train if possible detachable. What did your seamstress end of recommending?
