Tammy, on January 29, 2020 at 8:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
I'm in the need of any advice I can get with this crazy chaotic thing called wedding planning. I have just started but I already have three possible venues for my reception lined up we know where our ceremony will be, but everything else is sooooo confusing from what should I do about flowers do I or don't i, bridesmaids how many and don't get me started on the guest list problem we are having. Can anyone PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Breathe. Flowers do you want fake or real. What flowers are in season if you want real.
Here is a picture of my fiance's boutonniere, I made.

Bridal party is up to you but dont go crazy. I picked 4 girls. My best friend, daughter and two family members of my fiance. (Cousin and sister).
Guest list start with family. Then invite your closes friends. Everyone else will have to be understanding (try not to stress).

Well it depends on your budget. I would suggest decide what are your must haves and budget for that and the other items either get discount or avoid like party favors or maybe flowers if not a big deal to you. Decide on a budget and see how to work around that but probably you will need to have a small guest list.

Do you at least have a rough, ballpark estimate of how many guests you want before you pick one of those venues? Need to make sure the venue is the right size, particularly not too small. But as previous poster said, the easiest way to keep the budget under control is to keep the guest list under control. I'm having very cheap bbq buffet catering but it's still $30-$50 per additional guest on food and beverage alone.
Would you and your fiance be willing to take the person out for a nice dinner any day, celebration or not? If the answer is no, might be able to cut from the guest list.

You are right I do need to breathe. I want Gerber daisies because they are my favorite flowers and I want to do fake it will fit my budget I think. And as far as bridesmaids I'm really thinking two or none at this point, because i want my daughter and one of my good friends to stand with me but I don't want to hear the whole "why didn't you ask me, or pick me" thing. And as far as the guest list we are sitting down this weekend to start it. Thank you for telling me to breathe I was literally starting to hold my breath.

It sounds like you have your bridesmaids picked out. Your daughter and good friend is all you need. It doesn't matter what others say or think. This is wedding. They don't like it show them the door.

Yes we have a ballpark figure about how many guest we want to have at the wedding the thing is now who to invite because we don't want to leave anyone out but we will if we have too. And we having family cook for our wedding it's cheaper that way we think. Thank you for that advice I will put it to good use.

You are exactly right about that this is my wedding and I make the decisions about who I want standing with me.

I am not doing party favors or a big cake I'm making cupcakes and having a small candy table. But I will be having fake flowers or at least my bouquet.

If you have a small budget i would simplify everything as PPs said and limit decor and cut out favors. food is a big cost so if your family is helping out then that's good. you can also certainly find attire for a lower cost as well by not going to bridal stores or catching a good dress deal at davids bridal

My dress is a dress my cousin brought from one of those running if the bride's sales they have every so often, she brought three wore her favorite, sold one and kept one that was for either me or her younger sister and it's my dream dress and it fits perfectly so dress done. And my fiance is wearing a nice fitted suit that she had specially made by my aunt so our attire is free, our food is being done by family I have a cousin coming in from Louisiana to bar tend and he's bringing all Alcohol, just found that out today so that's a plus. So now we will work on our guest list and other things but I'm still so stressed out .
