Hello beauties, I'm sorry for posting twice today (I got excited about hockey this morning and totally forgot I had to pick my dress up post alterations today.....also, tomorrow is my birthday so I will forget to post this and then work will happen and fehhhhh.) ANYWAYS, I was hoping those of you with the trumpet style dresses may post some pics? Smiley smile I have kind of a curvy bod which I'm often self conscious about but this style dress makes me feel bridal-pretty and comfortable! Smiley smile I had no idea there was a difference between mermaid and trumpet until I picked my dress so I'm curious to see similar dresses on real girls. Less than one month out fehhh! (Please forgive my bright red bra and stiped underpants in this pic, I didn't think they would make me try it on today annnnd of course they did, haha!) Thanks, friends! Smiley smile

@Sam is yours the 100 button Oleg from DB? I am in love with that dress!

    As far as fits go

Fit and flare is exactly as it sounds, it fits to your body and then gently flares out from hip/mid thigh

Trumpet has a more distinct flare from the knee. There's generally a seam.

A true mermaid will flare out from the calf or ankles with a seam but is also generally used to describe dramatic trumpet styles with a lot of tulle at the bottom.

Here's mine. Is this considered to be trumpet style?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Your dress is more like trumpet style. Mermaid is a bit tighter on the thigh then puffs out by the knees... hopefully you understand. Enjoy your day!

Fit n flare breaks away from the lower hip/upper thigh. Trumpet breaks from the lower thigh, alllllmost a fit n flare - in fact, many bridal consultants don't even say 'trumpet', just lump them in with the fit n flares! Mermaid breaks away lowest, around the knee area.

From my understanding with the help of Google and Pinterest. ^.^ a trumpet will look more like this. A hugging fit up until the hip/mid leg. And a mermaid will continue to be tight throughout your body until your shin. Think of a mermaid and where her fin start almost at her feet. A fit and flare will look like a trumpet in a sense but tighter with a more natural flare.

My consultant called mine a fit & flare, but I mean, who knows? It has trumpet tendencies.
