Tri-state (nj,pa,de) Venue/catering options on a budget

Danelle, on August 6, 2019 at 2:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

Hey everyone!

My boyfriend and I just got engaged! We want to have a fall wedding in 2021 with 120 people invited but probably about 100 guests (He has a very large family). I have contacted several places to get estimates and between the venue and catering its already at 13k+. We don't want to spend an exorbitant amount of money on one day but still want a decent wedding. Has any previous or to-be brides found a venue with caterer for around 7k or cheaper. Or any ideas on how to find one. We would prefer an outdoor ceremony and reception (renting a tent). Any help would be appreciated as we are paying for this on our own.

David's Country Inn in Hackettstown, NJ. Very affordable and comes with the cake, flower centerpieces, open bar, and wedding coordinator. Not to mention its beautiful!

I AGREEEEE!! I'm getting married there in March. They've been doing a lot of renovations so there'll be an outdoor space for ceremonies.... However Fall is the most expensive time to get married - it's $115pp for the cheapest option

I would definitely focus the search more on PA (and maybe Delaware). NJ is one of the most expensive wedding states.

I’d say we are pretty much done w the planning. Everything’s been booked! Now all we have to do are the tastings, pick out our songs....ya know....the small details. I’m not a fan of flowers so I’m gonna do my own with candles or something for centerpieces instead. How bout u? Send me a message if u wanna connect on Facebook or something.

Thanks so much ladies! Definitely been focusing out of Jersey and will check out David's Country Inn. So far we've gotten pretty lucky with Graeme Park seeming to be in our price range, if any other to-be brides are looking.

Talesha, I would love to because I know how affordable they are, but FH's sister got married there last year and his father and step mother got married there too so he won't.

I had an amazing catering staff (Your Party Planners) they worked with our budget and were very accommodating. Jason LeBoon was the reason we didn't lose our mind leading up to the wedding. He responded to every message or call in a timely manner! I couldn't recommend him enough Smiley heart

There’s a place in Pitman, NJ on a golf course that has a big tent for receptions. It’s called Bogey’s. My cousin had his wedding there and it was really nice. Like someone else said, Masso’s in Glassboro does outside weddings, and they’re associated with one or two other places in the area. I don’t know what time of year you’re thinking, but some places down the shore will drop their pricing during the off season.

He is one of 7, 6 of whom have gotten married in the past 3 years. His other sister just got married at Bogeys in June lol. So unfortunately that’s out too. But I’m going to look at who is affiliated with Massos and down the shore.
