Tree Watering Ceremony

Kelly, on June 10, 2012 at 9:01 AM Posted in Planning 0 1

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone had ever done or seen a tree watering ceremony during a wedding? I think it would fit our rustic/chic wedding style and be more meaningful (for us) than doing a unity candle. I was thinking of having the mom's pour water from 2 vases already up at the alter into a large watering bucket, then when the time comes my FH and I will water the tree. I've read that it is symbolical of the love and nurture our parents have given us and that this symbolizes FH and I's love and nurture each other and our future family. We will later plant the tree at our home when we return from the honeymoon.

Any thoughts...?

Thanks ladies!!

Very unique!! I love it! I might suggest having mom's fill the two vases from piitchers that are up there and then the two of you water the tree at the same time....it might be a bit difficult for the two of you to try to use the watering bucket together...I don't really know though as I have never seen this or done it myself! I think it is a great idea and watching the tree grow will mean so much to the two of you =)
