There's a travel agent in our local mall that we usually use! We also found a women that operates a small travel agency and have booked a trip with her. It was nice to support a small biz. If you are not sure where you want to go, activities you want to do etc., they will help you narrow your search down and find the best deals for you in your price range.

Oh my goodness, I am so glad I found my travel agent! She has booked like six trips for me. She does ALL the work which gives me so much peace of mind. She owns her own small business.

What makes you afraid to deal with a travel agent? I guess I'm confused by that statement. I've used them in the past, but I've also been one myself in my previous life. There are pros and cons to using them. Personally, if I were to use one nowadays it would be through AAA or one of the big box stores (Sams, Costco, BJs). Just be open and honest and let them know what you want.

    Where are you going?

That can help you narrow down the travel agent you want. Some specialize in certain places (like Disney vacations are best done through Disney-affiliated agents).

As a former leisure agent, and current corporate agent, I'll say this. We are AWESOME. Those of us who know our craft are always aware of specials, discounts, etc happening. We take care of our clients. And when you're stranded.....we are there. When a hurricane hits....you contact us, not an online email that may, or may not, get back to you. I've received calls at 1am; I've booked my client on the last possible seat on a plane that was supposed to be sold out WHILE she was standing in line with 30 other people waiting to be re-accommodated (I was told it was a great feeling to walk past everyone else and get on the plane.)

    Don't count us out.

I used to work as a travel agent when I was fresh out of college. It was a cool job and a great experience, and I learned so much. I will NEVER book without one again, especially our honeymoon which should be as stress free as possible for you. Expedia and Travelocity and those online booking sites won't assist you when a hurricane ruins your plans or your flight gets cancelled - a travel agent will personally assist you and hold your hand through all of that. Always use a travel agent - more often than not, they don't charge for their services, just for what you book! I used to work at Liberty Travel and am planning on having the girls I used to work with book our honeymoon for sure Smiley smile Hope this helps!
