@Centerpiece - It was kind of funny when she mentioned she could see her belly button in that pic. I think she saw that it was not a good look for her.

I didn't get offended. =) I am also not referring to anyone calling anybody "stupid" in this particular post. I have just seen it on WW before. People will say things like, "I don't understand why people spend so much money on their dress. It's a waste for one day and they're stupid." Sorry for the confusion. I was just quoting in general.

I also didn't say anyone would look trashy or cheap. I just said I have seen cheap looking knock-off dresses. Not from DB, but from Chinese knock-off sites so to say that you've never seen a "cheap-looking wedding dress" would be an incorrect statement, unless you were solely talking about the dresses at DB. I have never seen a bride who proudly displays her dress from DB look cheap.

Besides, I would never tell a bride that they look trashy OR cheap. That would be trashy AND cheap of me.

It's not incorrect to say I haven't ever seen a wedding dress that looked cheap. I haven't. But it's funny to hear there are brides out there who would rather buy a designer knock-off than just go to David's! Like the blog author, almost wearing a dress that didn't fit. I don't understand the stigma!

Kim, the belly button was bad enough, but her poor breasts...it looked painful, lol.

I don't have a problem with David's Bridal dresses, just the experience of shopping there. I do think that they have a great selection at great prices. But the atmosphere..Horrible. But I should mention that where I am, the David's bridal isn't on the best side of town. My first bridal gown shopping trip was there and I felt like I was shopping at Walmart, clothes and dresses and accessories all over the floor, kids running around everywhere, 8 million people there, no attention at all from "our" consultant. I enjoyed the individual attention at other salons and still ended up with a dress under 1k. The second time I was there was with my bridesmaids. We waited 30 minutes, in a line, for a scheduled appointment only to then go to the rack, pick out the dresses they wanted themselves, and try them on in dresses room littered with dresses, having to fight for dressing rooms, and dodge other people. While trying on, and dealing with everything I mentioned above, my FMIL had tagged along and went to look at a dress on the rack outside of another girl's room, not take, just look, and a girl grabbed it from her and yelled she wasn't done with it. My girls ordered their dresses in the size that they had tried on and had fit. When they came in ALL FOUR OF THEM had to return their dresses for a bigger size. I guess the ones in the store were stretched out? My girls ranged size 2 to 18. I guess it depends on where you are and the time of the week you go.....

Ive had ZERO regrets about DB. i had great service when i got my prom dress there 7 years ago, and i had great service when i went into look at dresses for my first time and i had my first fitting tonite and the girls were amazing. i also chose not so busy times so i knew someone would be able to work with just me. which i think helped. cuz i know they can get busy. but i am so happy we've all had good experiences there. and some of my BMs are out of town so its great they can go to their local store and order the same stuff as i can get here.

CF, I know!! You're right, I'm glad they staged an intervention - just for the fit.
