Transportation and Getting Ready

Carlie, on June 26, 2019 at 8:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 2
We are getting ready at the salon the morning of the wedding. Is it normal to go back to someone's house to get dressed and ready and then go to the ceremony or do people get ready at the venue? Also did anyone do this and book a limo for that short amount of time or should I just forget the limo completely (PS I only live about 8 minuted from our venue)?

I think it all depends on what you have available to you. One of my best friends got hair & make up at a salon, we went back to her moms to eat lunch & get dressed, and then went to her venue. I on the other hand, will have hair done at my moms house, lunch, then go to the venue & get dressed there in the little cottage they have for getting ready.

As for the limo, that is up to you & how badly you want it, keeping in mind its really only for your benefit as either you want it for the fun of it or don't since not many people will see you getting out of it

    Hi there Carlie!

    Welcome to the WeddingWire community.

If you don’t have an area in the venue where you can get ready, or if you simply don’t want to get ready at the venue, you can totally get ready at someone's house! There is no rule here!

How you get to the venue from where you get ready is completely dependant on what you want to do and budget. If you want to rent a limo, and it’s within budget, go for it! If you have lots of passengers to bring to the venue, a shuttle bus may make more sense!

How many people will be coming to the ceremony with you?
