This is only what I know from my sister's wedding. I think it depends on your skin type which make-up you should use. My sister, mom and some of her bridesmaid used the air brushed makeup and looked awesome. The make-up lady told me that I didn't really need heavy make-up so she used traditional make-up - little coverup and it stayed on all night and looked awesome too. I would personally ask the person doing your makeup what they would recommend. I think it really depends on the skin type. Ask what will make you most natural and flawless at the same time.

    Hi There,

    Congratulations!

Airbrush makeup is flawless and very lightweight which is something that many brides are looking for. It is also long lasting. I just had a bride who even danced in the rain on her wedding day and had her makeup hold up nicely. However, it does depend on your skin type. Although good for most people, it is not the best product to use with very dry skin. I do recommend that you do a trial with a makeup artist to determine your exact foundation shade. Do the trial early in the day, so that you can see how the makeup will hold the entire day. I know that MAC has airbrush makeup, so that's always a good place to start asking. However, you can google "airbrush makeup" in your specific town and see what comes up.

I highly recommend airbrush makeup. It does look beautiful in pictures, and when else can you pamper yourself like a star.

    Best wishes,

    Carmen

Airbrush is a method of applying makeup base, just as sponges, brushes and fingers are. What matters most is which makeup base is being used, and is it the best one for your skin type.

Airbrushing seems to work best on more oily skin. I prefer to use traditional makeup applications on my bridal clients. By hand applying a thin layer of foundation to the face with a foundation brush I can blend the makeup into the skin. Then I spot a bit of concealer where ever a bit more perfection is needed and set with loose powder. This technique offers a flawless face that will last down the aisle and throughout the reception.

But this is just one makeup artist's opinion. It's sort of like asking a group of photographers which they prefer, Nikon or Cannon.

Sorry guys I didnt even see this post when I just posted mine...but this is a perfect example of mixed reviews from the two makeup artists comments.....i hear both are highly recommended....but i read about the airbrushing streaking if it gets wet, and then its not blendable...Im afraid if I cry that will happen...so now Im even more confused...I think I make a decision and then I get scared and second guess myself becasue its alot of money and a very important decision. Im wondering if any makeup artists out there are willing to do half and half to help save money...like half the face airbrushed and the other half traditionl so that they can be compared throughout the day

I am a makeup artist have been for almost 10 years. I love airbrush makeup. It does depend on the skin but if you get a consultation months before your wedding the artist can tell you how to prepare your skin. Also the airbrush makeup the artist uses is the biggest thing. I use a waterbased airbrush makeup that is very blendable in fact it can be used as a foundation applied traditionally. With airbrush makeup you will get a flawless natural looking skin and it will stay on all day. I use Kett Cosmetics products. Your skin must be very moisturized and exfoliated. Start using a moisturizing mask and a gentle daily exfoliator.
