We wrote our own vows but then we have something provided by our officiant for the ring exchange.

Thank you all so much for your input! I spoke to him about it and we decided to do the exchange of letters before the ceremony and traditional vows during the ceremony.

I don't know what we're going to to yet, but I'm sure if I'll be able to say custom vows since I have a feeling I'll be a blubbering mess.

We chose traditional vows for a few reasons. The first being that my husband is religious and he wanted to do traditional. The second being I didn't want to cry. Third I have anxiety and I'm not comfortable with public speaking and fourth we're pretty private people. We wrote letters and read them to each other the day after our wedding when we were alone, and I loved it that way, it was more intimate and personal.
