Also hold off on wedding party planning, oh, for at least a year.

I have 2 sisters I'm close with and didn't want to have to pick one over the other so I have my BFF as my MOH and my sisters as bridesmaids. They were both fine with that they are just excited to be a part of the wedding.

I would definitely say pick a friend to be maid of honor just to save the fighting or guilt

Wait till 8 months before the wedding and ask them then. You can have more than one MOH

I would say either make them all MOH or none of them if you want to avoid any of them being mad/upset

I feel like having a twin gives you the easy solution. I have 4 sisters and 2 of them are twins. They were each other's maid of honors. I'm not having any sister be the MOH I'm having a friend.
