Too expensive!

SO and I have always worked hard to be financially sound. We own a business and we're raising 2 kids and a dog. We own a home. We've also been together 12 years, engaged for 6 years. We finally agreed now was a good time to get married. Feels like the right next step for us and it'll be great to...
SO and I have always worked hard to be financially sound. We own a business and we're raising 2 kids and a dog. We own a home. We've also been together 12 years, engaged for 6 years. We finally agreed now was a good time to get married. Feels like the right next step for us and it'll be great to celebrate with our kids.

I had booked a venue and then started realizing the preferred caterers were way out of my price range. We're trying to cap this at 15k with 66 guests. Is it even doable? I feel like we looked everywhere and either our wedding is too small or our budget is not big enough. We can afford to spend more but we're very frugal and paying for this all on our own.

Should we be upping our budget? I know it's a wedding but it's one day and I can barely wrap my head around 15k, nevermind more.

Should we change venues? Wedding isn't until 8/2/19.

As for the venue, SO wanted waterfront and I wanted something industrial/rustic with charm. The venue we found is on the CT River and has elements of both. But really the venue isn't the issue. The catering is. And for menu, SO wants a plated dinner but other than that, no extras. The menu given was fine the way it was. Everything else is already included.
