I would definitely start now because vendors book up fast. Especially for May, and especially for 2021 because so many brides are postponing their wedding til next year.

I started planning about 2 years in advance and when I started booking like hair and makeup artists about a year and a half in advance a lot of them were already booked for my date, so definately get things done sooner rather than later. It’ll be less stressful once you get closer to the day too!

I also got engaged in May last year and am getting married in May 2021! I already have my venue, DJ, photographer, and know who I am going with for florist. I have my save the dates too just haven’t addressed them or done anything with them yet since arriving. I would definitely start booking the major vendors and it is definitely not too early. I am starting to feel stressed that I don’t have enough done right now even though there’s still a year to go! But I would say you know yourself best. I’m a big planner and like to get things done earlier and hate procrastinating!

View Quoted Comment I am sure I overwhelm my fiancé all the time when I get into planning mode..and I have no middle ground I feel like I go from no wedding talk to constant wedding planning 24/7 in the matter of a day lol! I did just order some swatches from Birdy Grey and Azazie for bridesmaid dresses and also just for myself to start using for color coordination. But I have seen other women on other posts that have had their weddings pretty much completely planned like a year out which is crazy! Good luck on your planning!

It is not too early as a lot of 2020 brides had to move their dates to 2021. So planning now especially with venues would prob alleviate stress.

Our wedding is also next may and we have everything all booked, signed and almost paid for. Our venue books out 2 years in advance for weekend weddings. Not too early at all.
