Too early for save the dates?

Sharay, on December 13, 2018 at 10:14 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 25
My wedding is in July. I do live in a different city and state from my family. I wanted to just give them a heads up like hey there will be a wedding on this day in this city. Is it too early to send out save the dates? Wedding is 7 months away exactly

6-8 months is ideal for save the dates, so 7 months is more than appropriate.

We have a lot of out-of-town guests and sent ours out 9 months in advance! I already have one in hand for September 2019 and I saw that an acquaintance of mine recently sent hers out for October 2019. I think you’re right on time!

Not at all. I had a July wedding and sent mine out mid-January (to avoid all the Christmas mail).

Do you have a dress yet? I have a dress for the reception but I’m having a hard time finding my ceremony dress. 😩😬

I do! I went at the end of October. I knew I’d be shopping at David’s bridal and i already had plans to travel the 4ish hours to visit my family, they have one there and it’s one of the closest ones to me.

My wedding is in August and we sent out our STDs at the end of October. So definitely not too early for you.
We have a decent amount of out of town guests that were asking for the details so we just decided to get them out sooner than later.

I'd send them ASAP. While on WW, people say 6-8 months for STDs, every save the date I have gotten has been in the 10-12 month range so there is actually time to not make plans and save the date. My summer vacation plans have been set and booked since October.

I sent my save the dates out late September /early October. My wedding is June 1st. I sent them out as soon as I got them so that people wouldn’t have an excuse that they didn’t have enough notice.

We sent our save the dates out in October for our 7/20/2019 wedding so I don't think so!

I think you’re fine. You’re supposed to send them out 6-8 before your wedding so you’re right at 7.
