Too early for engagement photos??

We are planning our wedding for the late spring of 2018 but have been engaged since the end of November. How early is too early to get engagement photos done?

We're getting married in July and just took our photos in February.
We got engaged in September 2015 and did take some that same year in November. At that time my FH was overweight and stressed from his old job and wanted to redo them with someone else. So we waited until this year since he lost all the weight and new job. It worked really well for us to do it close to the wedding so that we can send them with the STD or the invite.

I don't think it's ever "too early". We took ours in early October. Getting married in September.
