Tomboy Wears dress everyone gets set to laugh

Futuremrswhite, on February 8, 2017 at 9:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 41

Soooo I'm not sure I'm a tomboy really just depends on your definition. I'm a real jeans and tshirt kind of girl. I would get married in pants if my FH weren't so adamant about me wearing a dress. I get it and I have a dress that I'm happy with. I really liked it when I put it on. It was comfortable and flattering. Here's the issue. Like I said I don't generally wear dresses and terrified of tripping and falling or doing something else to make a complete ass out of myself. Advice?

I guess because I never really wear dresses and he really wants to see me in one.

OP- sounds like we could be twins! I actually do not own any dresses/skirts lol. I plan on wearing my dress around the house a few times before to get used to it.

Is it super tight or something that would cause you to trip? Wear comfy shoes, you'll be fine!

No I guess you would call it an a line dress. I'm wearing wedges. I think heels would be an accident waiting to happen

I am too a tomboy. I'm wearing flats . My seamstress made sure I wouldn't fall . She hemed my dress and had me walk around to make sure I was good.

I'm a little over a month out. The alterations have been done. I'm afraid of getting it dirty or messing it up constantly taking it out of the bag to try on. It's a smidge heavy to me but once again how would I know. It might be an average dress and I wouldn't know

Honestly, I would wear pants. You look lovely in the dress but do what makes YOU happy. FH doesn't get to dictate what you wear.

    I love pockets!!

I am wearing a slim fitting dress. I am a total tomboy. I would never wear heels bc I'm already 5'9",FH is BARELY 5'11"... I'm planning to wear Kate Spade gold glitter Keds Smiley smile

Oh cool. I didn't think of that. It was suggested that wear heels just for pics and stuff so I opted for wedges and I have flats to change into once all the pictures are done.

Wear a dress for the ceremony and change into something more comfortable for the reception? Jumpsuits are another option if you want something more formal.

The only way you'll trip over your dress is if it's too long or your shoes aren't comfy. Or if you break dance during your reception hehe.

The dress looks lovely on you! It's simple yet contemporary.

Wear your dress often. Walk around, get comfortable, etc. It's doubtful you'll get it dirty, and you'll have to have it steamed again before the day of anyway. Get comfortable in it!!

Like really, I just put mine on last night and sat around texting people for a while. I need to get used to my train.

That dress is gorgeous on you! And I love the pockets!

Its a beautiful dress, I would maybe practice walking in the wedges and get something comfy for after the pics. The dress is long so really you could probably wear whatever shoes you want and no one would know

I would have said exactly the same thing about 4-5 years ago! And I'm getting pockets for similar reasons, it's like the comfort of a hoodie, tricks your brain I think. Anyway! If you're like I was, I always wanted (and still wear most times) leggings under my dresses. It feels like pants, added bonus that it prevents my large thighs from killing each other. You look beautiful and you should definitely do what you need to be comfortable too Smiley smile I know the previous statement had nothing to do with shoes, but everyone else already said similar things to that point

I'm wearing lace sneakers with my dress and I got it hemmed just above the floor so I don't trip and die
