Dedicated June 2020

Today should be my day

Courtney, on April 18, 2020 at 9:12 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 17
We would have started on hair and makeup 10 mins ago at this point. We were to get married at 430 this afternoon with 110 of our closest family and friends. Instead, we will stay at home and cook steaks on the grill tonight for supper and hope our June 20th date can still happen even if it means a reduced guest count at this point 😕

Oh gosh! I hope things settle down there soon. I'm in MS and my wedding will be in MS. They keep moving our peak date. It was April 20th....now it is the 23rd. They have extended our shelter in place until April 27th

We’re in shelter in place until May 4th and New Orleans is in place until May 14th. My fiancé and I agreed that we are going to wait until the end of the month.

Same!! I’m trying not to let it bother me. Still don’t have a definitive date as of now due to many family members from New York State. Hugs to you!

Mine is on Thursday and I have been a mess this week. I though having a quick ceremony would have taken away the sadness but it hasn't helped at all. I still feel cheated. On top of the virus, my husband is in the military and we have been delayed ourove across the country twice now. So a postponement is looking even more like it wont happen. So frustrating.

If it doesnt happen in June we will do a small ceremony, but like you I will still feel cheated. It is very frustrating and depressing.

So depressing! I think people think I am being dramatic but I'm like..."says the person who has wedding photos and had their day."

I know..... I had one of my BM's who is married to FH's best friend tell me that something always goes wrong on your wedding day....our preacher got sick the night before our wedding and we had to find someone day of. I feel like I'm being bitter but I'm thinking to myself yeah but you still had your day on the day you had planned

🤗 *hugs* It's such a crazy time right now, for all of us spring brides. I'm sorry your wedding couldn't happen as planned. And hopefully your rescheduled one goes off without a hitch!

This is so true. Everyone giving me advice and telling me it will all work out as it is supposed to is already married. 😔

It really is sad. Who would have ever thought that as a bride, you'd have to worry about that things we have to worry about. We've always just taken for granted that we'd be able to find a venue, pick a date, sign a contract, and that's that! My original date is June 20th, and FH and I both agree that we will go ahead with the wedding, even with ten people, if at all possible. Love and luck to you guys!
