Toasts during reception.

Taylor, on July 26, 2018 at 12:59 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
It’s been awhile since I’ve been to a wedding so
im curious what most people do? We are having a buffet and we will be cutting the cake towards the end of the hour reserved for dinner. After cake we are doing the speciality dances. When are the toast by the MOH and BM? They both will be doing one. Also if my parents are paying for it, is my father suppose to give a toast or some type of greeting before dinner as well? Or what have you done? Just looking for suggestions for timing the welcome toast, blessing of food, and then the MOH and BM toast.

We had our MOH and BM give their toasts after cocktail hour and before dinner was served, we also did a buffet. My dad said a few words after the best mans toast. Typically the hosts (your parents if they are paying for it) say something in the beginning of the reception to welcome everyone.

We are having a plated salad prior to dinner. We will be introduced into the ceremony, and do our first dance while people are having their salads. Then we will go to the buffet, then when everyone has their food speeches will start. After speeches, mother/son and father/daughter dance. Then open the dance floor, and cake cutting a little after that. My father is giving a speech during dinner.

I gave a welcome toast on behalf of DH and me just after the guests were seated for dinner. Then as dinner was ending one of my bridesmaids gave a toast on behalf of the wedding party. We then cut the cake and did our first dance. We invited everyone to join us about 30 seconds into our first dance and that opened the floor for dancing the rest of the night.

Ahhh Taylor! Your wedding is just a little over a week away!!

Did you decide who was going to give a toast and when they're going to do it?!

What do you have left on your to-do for this upcoming week?
