So my fh and I are paying for the wedding our parents are not. I have looked up who should do the toast and nothing is really the same on anything I look up but the best man and maid of honor. So who is doing toast at your reception?

We’re doing a toast to our parents because they allowed us to meet when we were kids(we met online in a videogame forum when we were 12), I know most parents would say absolutely not, you could be talking to a creeper. But our parents lovingly took us to meet each other and we’re so grateful.

Then it’s whoever wants to give a toast! I can think of 4 people at least.

Exactly this. I gave a welcome toast on behalf of the groom and me shortly after dinner was served to thank everyone for coming. One of my bridesmaids gave a celebratory toast on behalf of the wedding party at the end of dinner.

Both sets of parents contributed to the wedding, but we did not have toasts at our reception. Since it was a destination wedding, we had a welcome dinner the night before where most guests were present. The best man did his toast then. We had a lot of time to mingle and thank everyone for attending throughout the weekend.

My fiancé and I are paying for the wedding. MOH and best man will give a speech and we plan to say a few words to welcome everyone, thank them for coming and wish them an enjoyable meal. Still deciding if we’ll toast to our parents. I would hate to leave out one set of parents but my fiance’s Father is a jobless alcoholic and his mom is a total b to me

We haven’t decided on who is doing toasts, but we’re pretty sure it’s just the MOH and Best Man.

We are paying for our own wedding. We are giving a welcome/thank you speech. If anyone else wants to step and say something, great. If not, that's ok too...and by "we" I mean "I" lol

FH and I are paying for our wedding. We’ll have the traditional MOH and BM speeches but the 2 of us will also be doing a welcome/thank-you speech before dinner.

We’re paying for our wedding and giving a welcome and thank you speech pre dinner. I think his dad and my parents are going to say something brief and his BM and my maids. But very short.

We (bride & groom) are giving a welcome speech (not so much a toast) when we enter after we mingle for a few minutes. That will go into our first dance, then dinner, and shortly after we will have toasts. MOH, best man, open mic.

So far only the BM and MOH will be making speeches at the wedding, but we might make quick thank you at the end.
