To Veil or Not to Veil

Alright all. Here’s a question for you. To veil or not to veil? I’m torn on whether or not to have one for the ceremony as I never really saw myself wearing one for my wedding. Alright all. Here’s a question for you. To veil or not to veil? I’m torn on whether or not to have one for the ceremony as I never really saw myself wearing one for my wedding. If I do go with one, I’d do a simple pencil edge cathedral length, as pictured. (Vine headpiece will be worn and hair will be up in a similar fashion, but obviously done by a professional!) I’ve also included a picture of the back of the dress. My concern would be that a veil would take away from the back. I know I don’t have to make the decision now, but the veil in the pictures is 75% off until Sunday only (making it under $100!) so it’s definitely making me think.

That particular veil isn’t bad, but it is plain. If you’re iffy on having a veil with a statement back dress, make sure it adds something. Otherwise, if you like the dress by itself, but you don’t like the veil you may regret it later, even if it is a good deal.

I tried on a couple with a little more "oomph", but thought they detracted from the back of the dress, hence the plain veil. I'm going to forego the one in the picture and do a little more shopping around for a silver pencil edged veil, since I have time.

I am not a veil person, I would say no veil. Especially that is how you originally did not see yourself wearing one.

I love the look of the veil with the dress, plus like another commenter said, the veil is there for pictures and ceremony.

Veil! It looks good with the dress and you can always take it off for the reception. I read on another post that a bride will remove hers after the first dance and now plan to do the same.

I love the veil! I had a cathedral veil and it was such a great decision. I felt like such a princess the whole time I was wearing it haha. Besides what other opportunity will you EVER get to wear a veil?? May as well go all out haha.

specially if you only wear it for the ceremony there will be plenty of opportunity for the back of your dress to be seen once you take the veil off.

I didn’t go to get this specific veil (I saw your question in my inbox but couldn’t find it in the thread). I’m headed to the garment district in LA in a couple weeks and figured I would look there. I think if I end up with a veil, I want a metallic silver pencil edge to match the silver beading (tried one in the store but it wasn’t cathedral length).
