To much time

Im already sad Haha. I am 1 year and 4 months away and I've already booked my venue, photographer, hair and make up, flowers, and officiant. I feel like it's forever away and i don't even know what to do. I feel like i can't sit and do nothing but I'm not sure what else i can do this far out. What are some things i can do with such a great distance?!?! I'm so lost at this planning thing!

Just relax and enjoy your engagement! I planned all my big stuff right away (14 months from the wedding), basically chilled for almost a year, then got back to it. There’s just some stuff you can’t do so far out. But, if you get sparks of ideas or see something online/in a store you would love for your wedding, go for it in the moment!

I would start looking for a dress at this point and find a caterer. You can also start looking for DJs, but it is a tad far out for that.

    Have fun planning!

I want to dress shop but I'm making myself wait until October because i want to lose weight before i shop. But i want to shop so bad hahaha i like the idea of jumping on things that i want. Spreading the cost out will help me so much!! Thank you Smiley smile

I try to remember we are going to be brides!! We will be beautiful no matter what! They proposed to us at the sizes we are not the sizes we want to be. Youll feel beautiful in the dress that's for you. I can feel it and know it!!!!

We booked all of our big stuff up front. Planning excitement came and went in phases. I made all of our signs and stuff so I used down time to work on those and find the right invites and stuff.
I also made a list of all the small things I would need/want and started accumulating those over time.

    To much time 1

OMG SAME. We’re getting married 10/10/2020 and I keep realizing how far away it is. I’m too excited to wait that long! Following the thread because I’ll need some tips on how to stay patient lol.

My engagement was 2.5 years long and I’ve loved every moment of it. It’s made these last few weeks so much less stressful. You can purchase little things like toasting glasses, cake cutting set, cake topper and other various little items. Have you thought about centerpieces or will they be done by the florist? You will happy to be able to take breaks around holiday and things too. I know someone who got married last weekend after being engaged for 6 months and stressed the entire time.

That’s how I am! My mom was like girl you’re going to have the whole thing planned in a month and not have anything to do but trust me I’ll find stuff to do! I have venue, catering, bar, dj, flowers, soon hair and makeup just want to do a trial first, and all that stuff booked! I love planning and spend way too much time on Pinterest! I’m going to have a lot of diy stuff that I can spend time working on. I also already am slowly planning bridal shower and bachelorette party. I have a big storage shed so I have already starting stocking up on anything I think I might need that I see now that way I’m not waiting until the very last minute to do everything! There’s always something to do!

I booked pretty much everything in the first 3 months. I'm almost done, and I'm super excited to be done. But I'm also feeling like it is going to take forever to get there. I just keep reminding myself that I'm using this time to work and pay for it.

Make detailed lists of what you have to do and when you have to do it! I am so glad I did that while I had a lot of time on my hands. Once I got to like 2 months before, I hit total bride brain and would be forgetting things left and right if I hadn't made such great lists and schedules early on!

Wow, thats amazing you have so much done already! My advice is to sit back and relax (I know, easier said than done lol). My fiancé and I got most of our big stuff booked about 10-12 months ahead of time and then had a lull for a few months where we didn’t have much to do. Now things are picking up again and I’m glad I took a few months to just enjoy engaged life before the craziness set it.
ps, just thought of this. Have you booked room blocks for out of town guests?
