To grow it out, no?

Futuremrsk, on August 20, 2017 at 8:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 34

So I have about 2 years until my wedding. Right now I'm rocking an asymmetrical pixie cut which I LOVE. But pinterest has been the devil for me and I keep seeing pictures of beautiful updos, and of course everyones gorgeous trials and BAMS. Its got me wondering whether or not I should grow it out. I know in the end its my decision, but I would like to hear what others have done! Maybe any short haired brides so off their wedding hair styles? Im attaching a pic of what my hair looks like short and long in the comments as well. Thanks!

    @hisbeauty, its such a hard decision for me. I feel like I'll grow it out, and then a month before the wedding say fuck it and cut it all off lol.

    Updos hurt like hell! Just saying. Do whatever feels most like you, not like what looks good on models on Pinterest.

    The post wedding chop is a real thing. I did it! Grew mine out, then bam! Back to a manageable length after the wedding!

    @teal, ive only ever had one updo haha, and that was for my brother first wedding 8 years ago! I had short hair for prom so I didnt get an updo then. It didn't hurt too bad for my brothers wedding.

    For me with long hair, it always ends up in a pony or bun lol. I cant braid my own hair, wish I could.

    @bemyguest, I totally understand. I grew it out 2 years ago. It took about 6 months to get it to a length I could just let it go. Asymmestrical is a bitch to grow out cause its all uneven hahaha. And then once it hit shoulder length for about a month, it was gone!

    @FutureMrsK I started growing mine out as soon as I got in a relationship with FH cuz I had a feeling I'd be married in two-ish years. Also a hard decision, because I LOVED my undercut, but I wanted something more elegant for my wedding (my hair will still be blue so I'll still feel like funky me!) So if you just love the look of the more elegant up-do's, GO for it! You'll be beautiful either way

    I feel like your hair looks great either way, both styles suit you well. My hair was just above shoulder length when I got engaged and I'm currently growing it out for the wedding but will probably chop it off not long afterwards.

    @katie, thank you!!

    @danilaughs, we are having a long engagement so I have lots of time. But I just cant decide, hence asking for what other people have done!

    I am going to get it trimmed and colored next week. Maybe I can ask my stylist to try more of a 'style' instead of just blow drying it this time and see what hapoens. I can always look on pinterest for some short styles! Smiley smile

    I'm growing my hair out just so i can have the options, and yes the updos are gorgeous. It really depends on whether or not you can deal with long hair again. I can't wait to do the post-wedding chop for me!

    I have a mohawk. Going with this hairstyle from Pinterest. Buy a wig to get a comparison...now/then

    I had basically the same pixie cut you have when I got engaged two years ago. I've been growing out ever since and my hair is to my elbows! I can't wait to cut it after the wedding, but I'm glad I grew it out because I tend towards short hairstyles. The long makes it feel more special to me.

    That being said, pixie cuts with flowers crowns and bird cage veils are STUNNING as well! Just think about how you would most like to look because you have the time to make it happen.

    My hair grows slow I think. I had a short hair cut when I got engaged in January and I've been growing it out since then and it's still not long enough for my taste to be able to wear it down (I always wanted long hair down for my wedding day) but it's only just below my shoulders. Smiley sad im doing an updo. I still plan on growing it out after the wedding though. I go through phases. Grow my hair out, cut it off, grow it out, cut it off.
