I know nothing about getting married. My mom passed last year so i have no one to discuss this with. I’m very simple and i feel i don’t need a bustle… i don’t love the look of a bustle. What would you do? Any advice would be so helpful. Thank you!

Completely a personal preference thing! The only reason you would bustle is if you think your train will trip you up while dancing. Where yours is a very modest train, I don’t think it would be much of an issue. My dress had a similar length train and I did not have any issues with it. I’m like you, I detest the look of a bustle. If you think you will have issues with it though, you could also choose to remove the train instead of adding a bustle.

I don't like the way bustles look, I'm opting for long veil and no train on my dress. That way I can have that bridal feal with the train for my ceremony but not worry about it dancing.

Beautiful dress. If you do not want a bustle maybe you can ask your seamstress to add a wrist loop so if needed you can pick up the train when dancing, waLking down steps etc. Enjoy your special day!

Everyone keeps telling me to bustle I’m so torn. Yours was a similar length and you had no issues dancing and talking with people? How does one remove a train? This is so so complicated i feel in over my head lol i want to cry.. so much planning, little things keep coming up, i feel so stressed..

Unfortunately, a wrist loop likely isn’t going to work with your dress. Wrist loops are made for long trains (see attached photos). If you were to put a loop on your dress, it is going to expose your legs. And if you raise your arms while wearing the loop, let’s just say all your guests are going to know what color underwear you are wearing! 😆

No, I didn’t have any issues with mine. Everyone kind of watched out for my dress lol. But if you would like to remove the train, just let your seamstress know. They can remove the excess length from the back. Here’s an example:

I also hate the look of a bustle, so I opted to have my train removed. There were several people who tried to talk me out of it, but now that the wedding is done, I am so happy with my decision!
