To boutonniere or to not boutonnière

PBiazinha, on February 27, 2017 at 10:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 31

So I got the list of options for my flowers and FH's boutonnière.

I can't decide either but the boutonnière is what it's stressing me the most.

Everything seem so big and I can't picture him wearing it.

Are you guys having it ?

Is it part of classic look? I know is a matter of taste but I want some input here please lol

Thanks !!!

I'm debating whether I should do without them. I don't see the point.

I don't think I want the guys wearing them. I think I'll just do bouquets and then corsages for moms and grandmas.

ETA: someone posted about this yesterday or the day before.

No boutonniere for us, and that saved me money, time, and stress!

We're doing simple $5 boutonnières for the groomsmen (just a white carnation and some greens) and a succulent for FH since he really wanted one.

I don't think it's a must have though! Don't stress! Have you thought about maybe a feather boutonnière or simple greens or baby's breath?

We are using them. It's such a classic look to me. FH picked them out himself. We are using succulents with a traditional tux.

We're doing shotgun shells wrapped with twine, a nod to FH's love of hunting. Maybe a small flower coming out of the top, depending on what we decide on for centerpieces/bouquets. If you can't imagine FH not having one, then pinterest is going to be a great starting point. If you are on the fence and he doesn't care one way or the other, you can totally nix them.

My FH doesn't want them. He feels like it's outdated and doesn't want to deal with a flower hanging off his jacket. I could go either way, but will probably nix them and just have the fellas wear pocket squares.

We are having them but probably only one blossom each. That way it's not too big but still classic.

We were going to do boutonnières for groom, groomsmen, and father of groom, but now are only doing one for groom to cut costs. I can't see a couple of his GM's wearing a flower anyway, lol. He picked a single white Calla Lily, which doesn't really match the rest of the rustic flower arrangements, but I don't care because he picked the flower.

I will be doing them, possibly with preserved or silk fall leaves instead of flowers.

If you don't want them, don't do them. If you decide to go without, I would look into pocket squares to add some contrasting color to the guys' outfits.

My fiancé does not want to wear a boutonnière or have his GM wear them. It does not matter to me so we will not have them.

I wanted to keep it somewhat classic BUT all the options my vendor is giving me are of huge flowers. He will not be happy about it. Hopefully i can get some credit for not using it and put towards some centerpieces! Thank you everyone Smiley smile

I'm doing em and it was easy, cheap and not stressful. I feel like the boutonnière is really the last thing I'd stress out about tbh.

G and GM need a simple, classic flower. Please remember that they go on the left side not the right. I went to a wedding where there were pinned on wrong and I wanted to stop the ceremony, scream and pin them on the left side.
