If you got married during this pandemic I want to say Congratulations!!! Hope you have a beautiful and successful marriage! Now I would like to ask you a couple of things.
My wedding is July 3rd and even though we don't know what might happen and if we will be able to have the wedding the way we planned to we're still going to get married that day! So I would like to ask you where did you get married? Backyard, inside, friends/family house or your own? Do you regret not waiting till all this passes? Did you wear your wedding dress or not? Are you having something later like your reception in the future? Idk I would just love to know the details, for you to share how special was your day, to hear any advice, to know a couple of ideas on how to include friends and family and to just be inspired and excited about my wedding day despite the circumstances! Sorry for the long post 😅 and thank you!!

We did it in my parents home. We refused to plan something outside (as originally planned) because if it rained and ruined another day, I would have lost my mind! We kept it ridiculously simple. I wanted no thrills because we do plan on having a ceremony and dinner reception when this clears. I want a real celebratikn that is full of the emotion that we are supposed to feel. I wore a white dress but it was not my wedding gown. Tried to do my own hair and my own makeup. Had a carry out dinner. My dad officiated it, and my mother was a witness. Super basic. It feels good having the marriage part out of the way, but it was still depressing on the original date. It was raining here, I had an awful migraine, and i just was in a slump. Seemed rather fitting if you ask me. Lol

That's true! And I've tried thinking as a guest , and sometimes it can cause me to be stressed because I'm trying to please everyone so I'm learning to ensure the day goes as me and my FH plan it to go while also being considerate of others!

Are you all doing a plated dinner? And that's a good idea with having hand sanitizer available. Hopefully we can find some in stores or maybe the venue will have some! I may get someone to make masks for everyone. I can probably add this information to our website.

Aw I'm sorry it wasn't beautiful out, and that it wasn't the the wedding you've been planning for so long! But I'm glad you'll have your beautiful wedding later on, that at least you're officially married and that all this situation didn't stop you from saying I do! It can be rather depressing to see how everyone gets their wedding and for most of the 2020 brides it won't be like that, the dream wedding won't happen any time soon and we'll have to endure through the stress but if we can get through this we can get through so many other things in life

Lol I get you! We were planning on having a plated dinner but I think we're going with basically a buffet style where no one else touches the guests plate or cutlery they will just serve the food. Don't want anyone feeling uncomfortable because someone was walking all over the venue with their plates of food before it gets to their table, haha. That's a great idea, didn't think about adding it to the website before, I bet guests would love those additional precautions being mentioned beforehand!

Lol ohh that makes sense! Yeah some people may be uncomfortable even with plated! So you're referring to having servers at the buffet area putting the food on the guests plates while they're holding it?

And yes that may make them more comfortable!

You're definitely not! That's totally understandable! Your guests should be happy you're doing that! Where are you getting married at?

My family is from Puerto Rico and I'm currently living on the Island and since I'm moving away we decided to have it here but my Future husband is from Pennsylvania. So it'll be a destination wedding for like 25 of the guests. We had a reception planned there to celebrate with the friends that couldn't make it which I'm convinced it won't happen now...

Ohh okay so must of the guests live in Puerto Rico? And I'm not sure how things are in Pennsylvania but you should still be able to do something there since it's now that many people!

Yeah only immediate family will be traveling the rest live here so they're completely down to attend no matter the situation. The ones that are traveling already have everything booked. Hopefully we will but as long as we get married I'll be happy!!

So how are you going to pull yours off? Where will you have your first dance? And do you have vendors for the other things you want? Tell me about your day?

I totally understand the low-key way too! I'm just exhausted from all the planning and dates. I'm ready for the next chapter! And the larger party when it's safe! Smiley heart

First option would obviously be using our venue if that's permitted even if we have to lower the guest count a lot. I would be willing to do that because my venue was extremely cheap and all of my vendors were signed individually. My caterer is willing to cook as long as I order for more than 25 people which I won't mind because we can keep leftovers, my photographer said he'll gear up with mask gloves and all that to be there and for the music we had a live band but we're willing to rent a sound system and use a Spotify playlist if we have to lower the amount of people present. All of the flowers are Lings moment flowers that look real but they're foam so I won't have to worry about a florist and the baker is also happy to make our cake for our original date. If we can use the venue it would be exactly as planned but with a way smaller guest count.
If not then we have a backyard that is not beautiful is just plain grass nothing else, But there we can set a small tent to avoid the weather putting a damper on our day, get some tables chairs and use my center pieces, hang some fairy lights and make it look pretty. Rent the sound system, play our favorite songs, have our first dance and have some fun on our backyard with our closest family members and friends. All we want is to enjoy the day and keep it as something really beautiful that we can remember later on with joy even if it wasn't what we originally planned to have . It can range from 10-50 guests depending on what the government allows. But everyone is willing to help pull it off, we're happy about making it legal, we will have pictures, I'll have my dress, my mom is a makeup artist so she has that part covered and everything will end up being beautiful even if it wasn't what I spent over a year planning 😂 also I'm a bride on a budget but both options would still get me a lot of money back bc of the lower guest count which makes me feel ok because I didn't lose money on deposits or anything similar
