Deff take two Advil before hand! Also wear comfortable clothing and don't wear anything tight. I usually wear a dress when I go.

I go to European wax center too. Gently exfoliate day before, make sure the hair is long enough usually about 2.5 weeks of growth if you shave. Take Advil beforehand. The girls make it really comfortable and not at all awkward. The first time you get waxed is the "worst" and most painful but it gets easier every time. I've been going there for about 7 years! TWO TO THREE DAYS TO RECOVER!?!?!?! Heck no you don't need that time. It feels like sunburn for the first night and the next day it's fine. It hurts like hell, but 100% worth every single penny.

Pop and advil and hold your breath

OliviaP is right. It is not that serious. I sometimes go to the gym after as well if I did not go in the morning before work

Bahahahaah i agree with @Red. the first day or so you'll probably not feel great down there, but i mean, you'll be fine.

I would suggest getting a good exfoliating shower scrub and making sure to use it generously over the next couple of days before the wedding. For me, that seems to be the key to preventing any "issues" in that area after a wax. The best decision ever when it comes to being maintenance free down there for a while. It is uncomfortable (pain wise) but nothing unbearable. If you have a low pain tolerance make sure to take a couple of ibuprofen about an hour before your appointment. Go for it!

It might be just me but waxes - no matter how much I get them it is a CATASTROPHE! One time got a simple lip wax before a girls trip in NYC and minutes after I looked like I had some funky STD all over my lip. I have tried all of the tricks, gave up and got laser hair removal. The end.

I shaved 3 weeks before my first wax. The wax itself hurt. Two days later I had white bumps EVERYWHERE. I looked like I had an std. They went away and since then I haven't had an issue.

My first wax was honestly the best i've had as far as results go. Ever since the first one, I get the same ingrowns and burn that I was trying to avoid. It hurts, so prepare yourself for that. I'd suggest some witch hazel to calm the skin, maybe do a couple of warm compresses to ease swelling or redness; but you'll be fine.

First off, they're really not that awful. They do hurt less the if you continue having them done regularly. When I first got them I was a little swollen few about 24 and then had brake outs. I wouldn't recommend getting your first one close to your wedding! You would want to have a few before your wedding night that way your skin is more use to it.

Honestly, if you don't know how you are going to react to ANYTHING you shouldn't do it 2 days before your wedding.

I'm extremely sensitive after I get a brizillian (I get them every 6-8 weeks, so not a newb) so I would never get one only a few days before something important. I can't usually go to the gym for a few days after. Great for those of you who can, but let's not pretend every body is the same.

Only you know your skin sensitivity so you are the only one who can really make the call of whether you should or shouldn't.
