Honest advice please! Anyone have any tips on anything I need to know before getting my first Brazilian wax?

Take an Advil about an hour before. That helps!

This might be obvious but don't go when you're pms-ing or on your period. Your skin is more sensitive at that time and it will hurt more.

Make sure you go somewhere high quality and reputable. Check yelp reviews. Chocolate wax also hurts less. Good luck!

It's considered polite to shower or clean up a bit before you go.

It is way too close to your date for a wax! You are going to be all sorts of uncomfortable for your big day!

@snowqueen yes I am, also a reason why I was considering not doing it. I was trying to avoid trying anything new right before... Thanks for the heads up!

    @embunny thanks!

I usually take a Tylenol about 15-20 mins before i go. Its not an enjoyable experience but its definitely worth it.

Do you get anything else waxed? If you do and havent had a reaction I think you will be fine.

I usually need two to three days to fully recover after a wax. I'd skip if I were you before the wedding

I have the lowest pain tolerance ever and I'm usually fine even without an Advil. I've been going to EWC for a few months. When I went for my first wax I was fine after a few hours.

If you do decide to still go this close to the wedding I would go to a European wax center if there's one in your area. They explain everything really well and can give you product recommendations for after care.

I actually got my legs waxed and a brazilian wax for the first time a few days before my wedding. I also got my armpits waxed, but I had at least done that at home a few times before then. It was a really dumb thing to do, but I was stubborn and didn't want to worry about shaving for the wedding and HM. It ended up working out wonderfully, but I wouldn't recommend it because you never know how you'll react. I think you've made the right decision to skip it!

Try Nair Shower Power for coarse hair. You can get it at Walmart. Don't leave it on too long or you can have irritation from it as well

You don't need to skip! I've gone straight from waxing to a workout. You'll be fine.

The pain though during the appointment is brutal. But once I'm in the parking lot, I've forgotten all about it. That's why I keep going back!

It is too late to do it if that's your wedding date. You need a few days to recover before getting busy

If it's your first time, I wouldn't do it so close to your wedding. Have you considered laser? I used to always do my Brazilians, but started the laser process and I love it.

With waxing you will be swollen, even painful to walk up stairs.

With laser, you actually shave it all of, and they laser it off.

If you do decide to go with wax, just try and talk to them while they pull it off. Oh and hard wax was my favorite, still was tiny bit less painful then regular.

It helps to put lotion around this area, especially inner thighs, leading up to the day you go so that way your skin isn't dry which can cause some bleeding. I have a high pain tolerance so I'm usually okay the next day. But it might take a few days to fully recover.

Don't do it yet if you haven't done it before! I broke out way worse than when I shave. I didn't want FH near me because it looked like a disease. I know people swear by them but if you are sensitive at all maybe start with a bikini only.

Use a good scrub down there days before going , take some Advil about 20 min prior to going. if you go today you should be fine by Saturday!

eta- make sure to tell them you have sensitive skin, even if you don't and you may just want to get a biniki wax to put your toes in the water and test it out first...

Take two advil a half hour prior to your appointment. The first wax hurts the most, meaning if you continue to get them done. You might have a little bit of bruising after but it subsides within a couple of hours/day later. I have a low pain tolerance, and it doesn't hurt too bad. The day you get it done you just shouldn't do anything that will make you sweaty, but you'll be good to go the next day.

Go to European Wax Center if you have one near you. If you don't and go elsewhere, make sure they use hard wax and not strip wax. Breathe out when she pulls. The first is the worst, and honestly, you'll be so in love with the results you'll want to go again.
