TLC Four Weddings Contacted Me?

Has anyone ever been contacted by ITV, the company that creates shows for TLC? A casting director reached out to me (after seeing my wedding wire website) about possibly being included in the show, Four Weddings.

I hope the show comes back, I love watching it! Might not be fun to be ON it, though.

You could just say No Thank You and move on with your life.

I got a press call for this without identifying the show or the premise. They picked one of my couples who were on one of the first shows here.

They were a lovely, sweet couple who had been together for a number of years and had three completely adorable kids. Their wedding was admittedly a lower budget wedding in a space in Brooklyn, but honestly, it was perfect for them and their families. It was fancy enough without being over the top, and their guests had a ball.

The other three women were brutal to them; they had much bigger budgets and they were just mean to her. The couple felt really attacked and I felt awful that I'd even had a part in this; if I knew it was going to be a 'whose wedding is better" deal, I never would have referred them, and I've never sent those companies anyone since.

In terms of logistics, the production crew was pretty invisible and very, very nice to work with. They put a disclaimer sign at the entrance, letting the guests know that they might be on camera.

I just don't like the concept honestly. You all are already worried about how your family and friends are going to judge what you do; who needs strangers? I think it's gross, honestly.

I love watching this show for entertainment sake, but I wouldn't want to be on it myself.

I know one of the US brides that won posted on reddit that the taxes on her trip were in the ballpark of $5k+ and they couldn't take the honeymoon for a whole year for some legal reason. Based on that alone, this doesn't sound worth it to me.

That's awesome! A friend of mine was on it during season 4 I think.

They're bringing it back. I'm an actress and I saw the casting call posted on LA Casting.

I spoke with the casting director myself. They are 100% doing a new season of 10 episodes but it's different. The 4 women must know each other...coworkers/ friends and so on. They need women getting married August- January. Sadly I only know 1 friend getting married in that time frame. I am looking forward to watching the new season though.

Why would the women have to know each other?

I wonder if the 3 other couples get any sort of consolation prize?

Ask them to send you information in writing as well as a formal contract as you want your lawyer to review everything before you sign to go on television. If they are legit, they will respond. If not, you won't hear from them and there is most likely a stalker or scammer or someone "phishing" for your personal info. Set up a random email address and have it sent there. Block them from your current email address. I worry about these things.

I am not a fan of the premise of the show. When I got engaged, my MOH forced me to watch episodes. I cringed every time I heard them bashing another bride. And then when shocker... every episode had the biggest budget bride winning. Idk, even if it is legit, I wouldn't want to see anyone I know go through that.
