Tips to prep before trying on dresses?

Does anyone have tips on what to bring or how to prep yourself before you go dress shopping? I have been told to do my hair and make up so it feels "more real"..but I am wondering if there is anything else I should do as well?

I get that! I went in wanting a short vintage style but every single one i tried made my 5'8" self look like a plump short cupcake (i found it funny lol)

i ended up getting a longer dress that i absolutely LOVE. and it was my consultant that thought of bringing it out.

Full coverage panties or spandex shorts! Sample size dresses tend to be either way to big or way to small. My butt was hanging out of the dress I chose so much that the stylist had to use a Swatch of fabric to cover up. When I came back with my Mom to show her the dress, I had spandex shorts on and it was so much better.

Think about what shoes you will wear... that will change the look of the dress a little.
Be aware of others being too "pushy!" Examples of it are "if you buy it today you get a free veil," etc. It's always good to plan to come back a second time to make a final decision.
Also check and make certain the dress you want does not have hidden marks/stains on it from previous customers. And just be wary of sellers giving you a dress that is not actually worth it's price. I went to a hole-in-the-wall place that sold cheaper dresses and seller twisted the truth about how new the dresses sold were.

Drink water ALL DAY, make sure you are hydrated & make sure you've eaten and aren't starving. Get a good night's sleep prior, and do your hair & makeup cute like you said. Be open to trying on tons of styles & shapes & everything in budget, and take pictures in case you don't want to decide right then & there. I'd wear nude seamless underwear & a nude strapless bra or pasties.

I wore jeans and a tshirt and didn't do my hair so I wouldn't have to worry about it. I wore the bra I wanted to wear and a cami because I prefer not to be in the buff with strangers. Also wear underwear. Apparently way too many people choose not to.
I refuse to eat before trying on clothing. So I chose breakfast only and then went to lunch later.
