Tipping Vendors

Many will tell you to tip servers and those that run their own businesses. We plan on doing just that: tipping our servers, photographer, and DJ. Our photographer and DJ run their own side businesses and will be with us all day. Our baker will only be dropping off and we're picking up flowers from the florist. But of course everyone will be getting thank yous and reviews once our wedding is over.

Tips on Tipping Wedding Vendors

As a business owner (photographer), I never expect to be tipped. Business owners charge what they want to be paid for their services. Unless they provide services beyond what is in the contract, there is no need to tip them. It's nice to offer them traveling money though if they traveled far and didn't include that expense in the contract price.

Tips are for employees who receive a wage for their work. Servers, hair/ makeup artists who are working as employees of a salon, etc.

Officiants are tipped the same way, but often religious officiants want to receive their tip in the form of a donation to their church. Just ask what they prefer.
