Tipping for Groom's Cake?

Emory, on December 16, 2019 at 7:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Hi, everyone! I tried searching for this, but most of the information I'm finding is pertaining to delivery. I'm having a specialty groom's cake made ($300) and we will not be having it delivered - we're picking it up ourselves. Is it still customary to tip for the cake? The only information I'm finding is yes, but in regards to delivery and nothing regarding pickups. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I suggest watching Jamie Wolfer's YouTube video "tips on tipping wedding vendors". She really cleared things up for me and she's got lots more videos for brides. :-)

I do not believe you would need to tip for the grooms cake if they are not delivering it.

Hey there, Emory! Welcome to the WeddingWire community Smiley smile

According to the WeddingWire tipping guide (Exactly How Much To Tip Wedding Vendors: A Complete List) cake baker do not expect, nor do they require, tips. The delivery people who deliver and set it up would require a tip, however, you’re collecting it so this is irrelevant Smiley smile

What is the groom's cake like?
