Tipping a Lighting Vendor?

Heather AG, on May 6, 2015 at 5:31 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

I've been reading all the various guides on tipping wedding vendors, but haven't seen anything about how to tip for lighting. Our venue has terrible lighting, so we've brought in a separate company to set up bistro lights and some other small effects. Delivery is included in the contract. Do we tip? If so, how much?

No, you don't tip for setting up lights.

Thanks! I do actually struggle with knowing whether or not to tip someone who delivers a mattress or a washer. At this point in my life I should probably know these things, but tipping always gets me.

Yeah, I've never had a fridge delivered or anything, but I'm with Robin. I probably would tip those people.

$20 is probably good. It's not a ton, but it covers you just in case. How many people will be setting up?

I don't know how many people will be setting up, at least it doesn't specify in the contract.

I don't tip them because they are charging me for a delivery fee, set up fee, probably the cost of the lights themselves to buy new ones...
