Tip photographer?

Hi all!

So my fiance and I are booking a separate photographer for our engagement pictures b/c it's like a destination photoshoot 4 hours away from home. I'm about to make the payment and the website is giving me the option to tip or not...... this confused me because I've never heard of tipping a photographer, especially when I'm only paying for the deposit and haven't had our pics done yet. Advice? Thanks in advance!

Eh not too familiar with this but I would just pay the deposit Now... then when you finalize the payment you can tip or you can tip after the session is over based on your experience

Our photographer did our engagement and wedding photos, but we definitely tipped her. However, we waited until after the wedding.

Hey there!
It is quite common to tip your photographer (Exactly How Much To Tip Wedding Vendors: A Complete List), however, I'm not familiar if this often occurs at the time of bookings. It seems to be something that is done typically at the final payment or on the day. Perhaps you could reach out to clarify this with the photographer?
