Our ceremony and reception will be at different locations. We are getting our ceremony location for 2 hours to allow decorating, clean up, getting ready, and the ceremony part. Our reception we are looking to get about 8 hours for decorate, clean up, getting the room ready, then the actual reception with the dancing, buffet dinner, etc.

How would you time these starting? We may do pictures at the ceremony locations after the ceremony part or do it between the ceremony and reception at a different location.

    Hey Mallory Smiley smile

When building out your day-of timeline, it’s best to start with your reception end time (or any other concrete times you have) and work backwards. While working backward, you can slot in all the different times you want/need things to happen. This WeddingWire article is very informative and also has a sample timeline you can use - 9 Wedding Day Timeline Rules Every Couple Should Follow.
