Tiaras yes or no ?

David, on June 9, 2014 at 11:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 42

Hi everyone !

My mom wants me to wear a vintage tiara and keep it for all the pictures. What do you think about tiaras versus headband ?

I'm not a fan of tiaras, personally. They make me think of that game, Pretty Pretty Princess. But each to their own!

Caution, this is my opinion ONLY: i think tiaras Play into the stereotype of being a Princess On your wedding day. Your arent a princess, its not your birthday, youre celebrating a marriage to your SO. Makes me cringe a bit.

I'm not a big fan of tiaras either. Does your mom wants you to wear a particular tiara for sentimental reasons or any tiara just because? If the first, I would consider wearing the tiara at least for part of the wedding, maybe the ceremony and not the reception. Otherwise, I would wear it only if I want/like to. It is your day.

    Tiara= no

Maybe take one photo for your mom but don't be caught in public with a tiara on...lol. I am so kidding, I am not a fan at all BUT it isn't my wedding. If you feel beautiful with a tiara on...rock it girl!

I wasn't going to wear one but I changed my mind. If it makes you look and feel pretty, go for it, if it doesn't then don't.

In the words of Mark Francis "Unless you have a family tiara, you don't wear one."

I have a family headpiece that is tiara like, sits like a hairband but it a little elevated

I'm not a big fan of tiaras for me but my Jr. BM all wore them. I wore both a finger length veil & a headband. I took off my veil after the 1st dance & wore my headband the entire night. It's a personal choice.

I think many of them look cheap - so I'm not a fan.

I'm wearing one, but (a) both my sisters wore it for their weddings and (b) it's not like a traditional princess tiara.

Also not a fan unless it is truly a family piece.

Not doing one. Not a princess so didn't see the point.

I love tiaras. Smiley smile I am not wearing one for my wedding though because they look dated as far as fashion goes.

I think they are absolutely terrible. You're not a princess just because you're in a pretty white dress. My consultant had me try one on at my dress appointment and I felt/looked ridiculous.

I do not see a single thing wrong with tiaras. I might have one, might not

Wow, a lot of strong opinions on tiaras! I like them, but I'm not going to be wearing one. There were simply other headpiece options I like better!

I am not a fan of sparkly tiaras, but I am wearing a crown/tiara of Edwardian orange blossoms, it's in the shape of a crown, but it looks more like a wreath.

I don't like them. You are not his princess, you are not his queen. You are his partner and his wife.

    Unless it's a family heirloom, I say they're a big negative.
